iNFOiSLIVE to kick off SMS application strategy with miL platform upgrade

iNFOiSLIVE Corporation Limited, a leading wireless application developer with head office in Hong Kong, announced today the new version of its SMS flagship product, miL platform 2.5.

Prior than the availability of inter-operator SMS from operators, miL platform allows sending SMS to subscribers of all mobile operators in Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries. More importantly, it provides a set of Application Programming Interfaces (API) for customers to develop tailor made SMS applications. Functionalities of the API's include:

- Ringtone and Logo conversion: includes a bitmap-to-logo and a midi-to-ringtone converter, which transform image and audio files to logos and ringtones for particular mobile phones

- Two-way messaging: allows users to send, receive and reply to a message within a user group

- User authorization: identifies a user by examining his/her account id and password

- System monitoring: monitors the network connections and behavior of different components to ensure high availability

- Web-based account management; Message filtering; Volume control and Message Queuing, etc.

miL platform benefits both mobile operators and corporations. By installing miL platform on top of their SMS centers, mobile operators are able to offer ringtone and logo downloading service through third party content providers on the Internet. Besides, the operators and their corporate customers can also leverage on miL API to build robust SMS applications quickly and easily.

For corporations, miL platform can be purchased in ASP model, so that they can enjoy merits of the platform without significant upfront investments. In this model, corporations simply use miL platform and API through Internet with secured or unsecured connection. They will then be able to use the API and send SMS to all mobile subscribers at a low cost.

"As SMS is getting hot in the region, iNFOiSLIVE has formulated a thorough strategy to cater for the wave," commented Kin Ko, Founder and CEO of iNFOiSLIVE. "We will stick to our key role as a developer, providing robust applications and platforms to mobile operators and corporations for their service provision."

Currently, Cathay Pacific and SHK Online, among others, are using miL platform for sending SMS notification to their customers. Existing users of miL platform can all be upgraded for free and without interruption of service.

Besides miL platform, other SMS applications on top of the platform are scheduled to roll out in the near future.
